Recipe: Quick Vegie Stirfy over Home Grown Potaoes
Ingredients:
Pick fresh vegies such as cauliflower, broccoli, snow peas, shallots and beans straight from the garden just prior to cooking.
Some home smoked bacon, cut into little pieces
Home made turmeric and galangal paste green curry paste home made soy sauce fermented cassava starch for thickening
Home made ghee for frying
Several home grown potatoes
Method:
1. Heat a wok with some ghee and add the bacon pieces. 2. Add some turmeric and galangal paste and green curry paste to taste, some soy sauce and fry until the flavours marry together. Add sliced cauliflower, broccoli, whole beans, shallots and snow peas and stir fry until lightly cooked. 3. Add a little water when the vegies start to go a bit limp. 4. Add a couple of teaspoons of cassava starch to thicken into a sauce and cook until the vegies are just cooked. 5. Serve the stirfry over steamed potatoes and garnish with some chopped coriander from the balcony herb garden.
