BiobinThis resort has found innovative ways to improve eco efficiency by reducing their carbon footprint, improving water efficiency and reducing waste. Integrating solar hot water and composting all of their food waste by using a bioBin (the first Resort in Australia to implement this) are only the tip of the iceberg of their actions.  Recycling has increased with reductions of waste by 41% over the past 24 months, major water reductions by increased water efficiency through rain water harvesting for use in swimming pool top up and irrigation. There have also been significant inroads into reducing energy usage in air-conditioning and lighting. The Resort acknowledges that it is both a major consumer of utilities and waste generator; however they are committed to lessen their environmental impact on the environment whilst contributing to the sustainability of the Biosphere. The Resort is situated within the boundaries of the Noosa Biosphere and has also been chosen as the pilot Resort for the worldwide Starwood Hotels And Resorts 'Make a Green Choice' program".

Sheraton Noosa Resort and Spa are one of the twelve partners on the Sunshine Coast of the State Government's ecoBiz program.

In addition, the Resort was announced as Joint winner of the Noosa Biosphere EnvironBusiness Category of the Sunshine Coast Council Living Smart Glossies Awards. The EnvironBusiness Award Category recognises a project, program or policy that has assisted in achieving improved sustainability within a business or organisation.

 

Partnerships: have been developed with like minded businesses including Kabi Golf and Landcare Noosa who are working with the Resort on their Socially Conscious Meeting Program.   The Resort is also a major sponsor of the Noosa Biosphere.

Our Executive Chef, Scott Freund is passionate about  using the freshest produce available, in particular local seafood including Mooloolaba prawns and sand crabs, Noosa spanner crabs, Hervey Bay scallops and local fresh fish, seeking out the freshest available on the market daily and incorporating into the Resorts ever changing menus.
